Winter skin

When winter comes, our skin changes. I want all of our lovely clients to understand what these changes can be, why but also how to tackle these changes to ensure your skin is healthy for the winter months.

Through the winter, it is VITAL to work closely with a skin therapist to ensure you are on the right products to maintain skin health, comfort, hydration and a healthy skin glow. A very common mistake made by lots of people is that products are picked up off a shelf without truly knowing if that product is what you need for your skin!

Buying the wrong products can often lead to skin issues such as irritation, dryness, dehydration and sensitisation.

In cold and wet winter, our skin and body are impacted internally and externally; we experience a dryer skin, sensitised skin, irritated and a dull skin. Not only this, but our immunity is working overtime to fight off colds and viruses, meaning that our body can focus less on skin repair.

The fresh cold winter air has been shown to affect the levels of our 'natural moisturising factors’ and ‘ceramide’ levels. Meaning that our skin is less protected AND feeling more dry and dehydrated.

For anyone experiencing a more irritated and sensitised skin, I highly recommend reduce activities and exfoliants to the skin. We need to focus on skin health and immunity. We work with repairing, calming ingredients within our skin care and facials to give your skin that extra immune boost it needs.

For anyone experiencing dry and dehydrated skin, then you need to work on improving the hydration within your skin. For this, we often work with a mixture of skin supplements, skin care and facials to help your natural moisturising factor work more effectively.

Getting the right advice helps you to achieve results, spend less and achieve skin health more quickly! Working with a skin therapist isn’t a luxury, it is a necessity if you want to achieve healthy skin.
